What is bubble wrap?

Bubble wrap is a pliable transparent plastic material used for packing fragile items. Regularly spaced, protruding air-filled hemispheres (bubbles) provide cushioning for fragile items.

In 1957 two inventors named Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes were attempting to create a three-dimensional plastic wallpaper. Although the idea was a failure, they found that what they made could be used as packing material.

Similar product names include bubble pack, air bubble packing, bubble wrapping and aeroplast.

What’s the difference between traditional bubble wrap and air bubble wrap？

Traditional bubble wrap is small bubbles with air already, we need to tear it hardly or use a scissors to cut it. Air bubble wrap is no air when receive it, will need air cushion machine to inflate it. But it’s easy to tear as it has perforated line, and it take small space as it’s no air at the beginning.

When one bubble burst, will others burst ?

No, the air bubbles are arranged in rows, when one bubble burst, that row will leak ,but no influence to the rows nearby.

Can I inflate the air bubble wrap by myself like hand pump?

No, the air bubble must be inflated by air cushion machine, as the machine will inflate and heat sealing the film.
